Sandeep Verma| Posted On: 12-Aug-2010

Yadvi Aggarwal, a fashion design student (FD 07-11) of Pearl Academy of Fashion will now represent India at International round of Triumph Inspiration Award 2010 in September 2010 in London after winning the National Round in Mumbai recently.

Triumph Inspiration Award challenges students to be inventive and have fun while showcasing one special design theme which demonstrates their talent, vision, and inspiration. To begin with, all participants compete on a national level. Yadvi won the National round and winning the national final automatically qualifies her for the international final being held in different inspiring mega cities every year.

The concept of Yadvi’s design is “Back to the Basics” which is derived not only from the mother earth and its magnificent outline but is an allegory; the moral of the story is the need for sustainability. It says that it is the time for us to start caring for earth that gave us all life.

Yadvi’s creative bend of mind is not limited to her designing; she also has good hands on Nature Photography and that’s where the inspiration came from. “Whenever I clicked any picture of nature I always thought of images which I would see and the changes that are coming up in terms of global warming, de forestation and instable weather. So I decided to create the collection on nature. The color of the garments is also Green which depicts Go Green message for people” shares Yadvi.

Currently she is doing her internship under renowned designer’s pair of India; Shantanu- Nikhil, and aspires to be one of the best in the industry.

“My designs are essentially Indian – Hand technique, India’s rich culture and strong belief in hand skills i.e tie and dye, handloom weaving with an International appeal attached to the way the organic shapes curl themselves and fall perfectly. A sense of movement is created. It looks futuristic (concept and color) and crisp (the texture)” says exuberant young Yadvi
An astonishing list of 26 countries is participating to be the winner of this giant competition which has prize money of 15,000 Euros to be won.

Money is not the only reward that the winner can think of, there is more to come which definitely is of larger interest between the participants who would be striving hard against each other, not to mention to make their country proud.

The winners of the Triumph Inspiration Award will have their design adapted and fully realized into a commercial garment. This garment will be produced in limited edition and will be sold in selected Triumph stores worldwide.
