FASHIONABLY INSPIRED HOTELS

editorial@stylekandy.com| Posted On: 04-Sept-2010

Fashion is fiercely personal on the other hand style has no limits . If you are what you wear, and you are stylish, why not travel in style, too? And international designers know this better .The designer hotel fad was originally kicked off by Donatella Versace, who opened the extravagant Palazzo Versace in Australia’s Gold Coast in 2000. Over the past few years, fashion has made an impression on hotels. Versace did it. Bulgari and Armani did it. Missoni and Diane von Furstenburg continue to do it. Bulgari followed suit when he hooked up with Marriott and slowly, but surely, more designers are paving their way to the hotelier culture. So if you want to lap it up with grace and style, here's a few handpicked must-sees...

The Armani Hotel in Dubai- The place features clean lines and sophisticated taste, the Armani Hotel Dubai reflects the personal stylings of designer Giorgio Armani. The curved walls are lined with leathers and luxurious fabrics from Florence. Green bamboo marble from Brazil is found in each of the hotel's bathrooms. The furnishings in the lobby and throughout the rooms are from the Armani Casa collection. Dining fare offerings are Mediterranean, Japanese, Indian and Italian cuisine in an exquisite 5 star dining experience. The spa features individual therapies designed by a consultant on staff and boutiques surround the hotel with items picked by Armani from his collections.

Hotel Missoni in Edinburgh- Part of the Rezidor Hotel Group, the Missoni Hotel in Edinburgh features the luxe fabrics and dramatic design that made the Missoni name. Designed by Rosita Missoni, the hotel is a black and white palette highlighted with brightly painted jewel-toned walls.Rare wines, bold colors and flavorful cooking are found in the hotel's Cucina. The Cucina's dishes are classic Italian with a hint of modern tastes, such as the squid ink risotto dish. Rooms feature the bold designs of Missoni but promise comfort. Bathrooms typify Italian luxury, with walk-in showers equipped with rain or hand-held function.

Maison Moschino in Milan- Following a fairy tale dreamscape, 65 rooms were resurrected in an old railway station in central Milan to create an imaginative escape, the Maison Moschino, designed by the Moschino House. The Clandestino Milano restaurant features a menu that is both unusual and up to 4 star standards. It features Italian flavors prepared in eccentric ways, such as sushi prepared with olive oil, herbs, tomato and cheese.

Bulgari Hotel, Milan- Situated in the Duomo neighborhood of Milan, this hotel is near Orto Botanico di Brera, Cathedral of Milan, and Brera Art Gallery. Additional nearby points of interest include Teatro alla Scala. At Bulgari Hotel Milan recreational amenities include a health club and a spa tub. The hotel also features a restaurant and a full-service health spa.
