This time, it is time for the very hot and glamorous Priyanka Chopra who has buzzed everyone with her super ripped looks her next-‘Anjaana-Anjaani’ which is set to release on September 24. After looking uber-stylish in ‘Dostana’, Piggy Chops is making a new fashion statement with her dishevelled look in ‘Anjaana Anjaani’.
A far-cry from the neat and the prim-proper look, Priyanka’s knotted style in her upcoming film has become a rage with the youth. All thanks to the one and only- Manish Malhotra. Her costumes are exclusively tailor-made and the idea was to make her look uber-cool in an all new avatar.
“While putting together Priyanka‘s look in the film, I came up with the idea of cutting and knotting her tee to look edgy since that’s the style I wanted her to sport in the film. Her shorts, I picked up from London and they looked very hot on her, so we decided to stick to it.” Manish spoke at length while he was in Delhi for the launch of European brands - Vero Moda, Jack & Jones and ONLY for the very first time in India!
“Dostana was for more of a summery look with Location being Miami but in AA, it’s more of a winter time (The film was shot in exotic, glossy locales such as Los Angeles, New York and San Francisco) so the look and feel has to be edgier and Boho- Chic with a plethora of winter clothes in different sizes and forms”, he added while maintaining that he only styled for Piggy Chops not for Ranbir (Poor boy)!
So what will be the highpoints of the entire movie in terms of clothes “She is seen wearing dark catchy colours like black and purple in the movie and there is a lot of usage of boots, scarf’s and trendy buttoned jackets”, the designer shared.
All praises for Piggy, he raved, “She has become an idol for the teenagers and they are following her style. The actress has created a wave amongst school and college girls and her sense of style is greatly sought after,” the designer asked. When it comes to the story line, the designer gave a little hint- “It talks about two individuals who, fed up with their failures in life, decide to commit suicide. Both of them end up at the same bridge at the same time and the story begins. Priyanka Chopra is a San Fransisco based girl and Ranbir is from New York City. They meet in NYC and travel across the country!
And during the shooting, any special incident which he remembers and wants to share with our reader? “Well, I still remember, it was during the shooting in New York when I was suppose to make 500 hospital gowns in a single day and during that time I was also involved in the shooting of ‘I Hate Love storys’ so travelling all the way from Queen’s Town to New York (pressurizing his mind to find out the exact location) was really hectic” the designer shared.
