Paras Bairoliya of the duo Paras and Shalini shares, “I feel Casa Bella, India is doing a great job by promoting Indian fashion, art and culture in Spain. It has really created huge opportunities for the two countries to collaborate and understand each other’s strength. It was a fantastic event yesterday where we met people from the ‘Fashion Design Council of Spain’; we jointly did a show together where fashion designers from Spain reflected what they think of India and we showed them that what we do in India is not necessarily traditional. Post the show I feel both the countries have a lot in common when we talk about culture and fashion.”

He adds up saying, “We were three designers from India, all of us showed really excellent collections. We presented three unique looks, which showed excellent Indian creativity from all possible ways. I showed my Spring/Summer 2013 collection for the first time anywhere that had lot to do with evening gowns, Amit Aggarwal took his latest Resort collection that had lot to do with experimental clothing and technique whereas Nida Mahmood showcased her statement quirky kitsch colourful pieces.”

The Spanish are really fascinated about visiting India. Paras says, “Spanish people are really enthralled with Indian culture, religion, craft, fabrics and lots more. They really like everything about India because it’s fairly difficult to find a lot of things in Europe. People are really passionate about visiting India for three different reasons; foremost to source for fabrics and resources. Secondly, some designing universities want to collaborate with the National Institute of Fashion Technology in India and they want to do an exchange programme to understand young Indian talent. Thirdly, FDCI has opened opportunities to Spanish designers to come to India in order to showcase their collections.”

“Moda–India–Finale was the event’s highlight which meant ‘Fashion, Spain and India’ that was all about celebration of India and Spain coming together. So, overall it has been a win-win scenario for both the countries,” signs of Paras.
