Just when we thought that we had comfortably wrapped up the Spring Summer edition of LFW, it’s time to gear up for the next season that’s in store for us! What came as a surprise, a pleasant one we must say is the revealing of the Grand Finale designer. Strap on to find out who is it that we are kicked about...

We are referring to fashion legend (LFW discovery), who happens to be one of India’s favourite designers- Sabyasachi Mukherjee. Yes, Lakme announced just yesterday that they finally roped in the talented designer who will present his collection as the Grand Finale designer at Lakmé Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2013.
A renowned name both in India and abroad, Sabyasachi’s collections have won accolades and critical acclaim from commentators as diverse as Oprah Winfrey and fashion doyenne Suzy Menkes. His Finale presentation is set to be one of the season’s most awaited shows, after a hiatus of five years! Can we place our bets on what to expect? Not really, because when it comes to ‘Sabya’ as he’s fondly called, we must always be ready to expect the unexpected.
Popular for his design philosophy known as the 'personalized imperfection of the human hand’, Sabyasachi celebrates fashion with a fusion of style and sensibility that resonates international styling with an Indian soul. A designer who is a regular at Wills India Fashion Week and in fact has also been a Grand Finale designer for the Delhi shows surely seems excited about his stint with the Maximum city!
He tells us, “Presenting my collection at LFW is always a special occasion. This is where I made my debut as a designer, which provided me with a platform to be recognised by the world of fashion. Returning as a Grand Finale designer after five years is very exciting. The show promises to be truly grand,” Of course, we don’t doubt its grandeur, pomp or panache.
“We are delighted to have Sabyasachi return to LFW to showcase the Finale for the WF 2013 showcase. His creative genius combined with inspiration from Lakmé’s latest beauty trend statement is sure to bring the season’s festive theme alive” said Purnima Lamba, Head of Innovation at Lakmé.
LFW is due by the end of August and this season definitely looks bigger than the last one already. Will anymore names be out of the mystery box? Can we expect The Manish Arora? We sure can keep up our hopes till we get any confirmation from their side.
