Lakmé Fashion Week (LFW) is jointly organised by Lakmé and IMG, the global leader in fashion weeks and event production. LFW has been conceived and created with a vision to “Redefine the future of fashion and Integrate India into the global fashion world. LFW is organized twice every year at Grand Hyatt Hotel, Mumbai.

LFW is held twice every year; LFW Summer/ Resort is held in March while LFW Autumn/Winter is held in August each year. LFW is known for the platform it provides to young designers through the ‘Gen Next’ show where deserving young designers are chosen to showcase their collections each season.

Last season(2011) LFW introduced new concepts and initiatives. One such initiative was the introduction of a second showing area titled “Talent Box-Preview Show”. It was a platform that was created exclusively for ‘stall-only’ designers. It gave designers the opportunity to showcase their collection on models, on a ramp setting through a mini preview show at ‘The Buyers Lounge’. The designers could thus present their work to a select gathering of buyers, media and guests.
