A sheath dress with high boots for girls and a shawl collared cardigan over fitted trousers with a pair of brogues for boys are sure to enhance your fashion quotient. But to complete the look, getting the right hairdo is a must. Keep it edgy and smart this winter and create a long-lasting impression. Take a look at hair styling tips for winter 2012.
Style it up
Be it pixie cuts or sizzling spikes, bouncy layers to stunning retro styles, these hair styles are sure to rule this winter, personifying the sophistication for girls. For those who are fashion-conscious, keep it classic yet trendy. Classic curls, edgy waves and shimmered hair with hair colour on can give you a chic look. “Opt for global colours like brown and red for the tresses. Streaks are not in fashion for this winter. Get layers done on your hair or opt for sharp bob-cuts. For the professionals, you can tie you hair up into a pony tail,” says Clint Fernandes, make-up artist and hair stylist.
Adding to this, Elton Steve Vessoaker, Senior Creative Stylist, makeup artist and educator at Nalini and Yasmin salon, Mumbai, says windswept updos and high and low buns can do magic this season. “Look gorgeous in side partitions and try braids on your hair. Avoid blondes and opt for brunettes, dark chocolate, fiery red and copper this time.”
For the boys, keep it short and well-groomed. Try keeping length on the top and go for a neat look.
Accessorize it
With an up-town hairdo, try out jewelled accessories like hair pins, brooches and hair bands. And girls, it’s time to fetch those bandanas and head-bands from your wardrobe. For a casual look, boys can also wear hair bands. The messy look is a big no.
Keep your hair hydrated and conditioned, and don’t forget to apply serum before you step out of your house.
