Fragrance and beauty experts were waiting for this long-overdue perfume from Lancôme. It is touted to be one of their iconic scents that is ‘good’ enough to stir as much attention as their Tresor did. They are hoping that it will match the fame and longevity that was enjoyed by Tresor at its launch.
With Julia Roberts as its brand ambassador, Lancôme’s latest ‘La Vie Est Belle’ cannot have a better face. The fragrance, whose literal translation means ‘Life is Beautiful’, we hear was developed by perfumers Olivier Polge, Dominique Ropion and Anne Flipo who are the titans of perfumery and have names like Viktor & Rolf, McQueen, Burberry, Chopard and more in their kitty.
The notes for La Vie Est Belle include Florence Iris Pallida concentrate, Jasmine, Orange Blossom, Patchouli, Vanilla, Tonka Bean, Praline and Blackcurrant. So, Iris forms the key ingredient of the perfume. Vanilla and praline make the base of the scent very warm and powdery.
Symbolizing the spirit of the fragrance, a free and happy woman, the bottle is an imprint of a smile at the heart of a crystal square. The bottle designed for La Vie Est Belle is shiny and sleek, with convex sides and bevelled edges. A pearlescent grey organza ribbon tied around the neck of the bottle forms the twin wings of freedom.
With a seemingly high quality spray mechanism; this seems like quite a catch to try out before we step out into the chilly evenings!
The perfume signifies joyful femininity and happiness and is for the everyday woman. La Vie Est Belle represents “a new era” and “the choice to live one’s life and fill it with beauty. What’s surprising is that there’s no logo except for a tiny Lancome rose that’s etched onto the top.
All this is however, just by the looks of the bottle. With their high-flying campaign and choicest notes, this seems like a luxuriously worthwhile buy after all. Have you made up your mind for your Christmas splurge? Well, we just have after looking at this lustful rose pink bottle!
